ephemeral is an arts collective and resource hub dedicated to building resilient, place-based creative communities across the Colorado Plateau.
What we value:
Imaginative, bottom-up storytelling through in-person gatherings and print media
A media landscape that is honest, playful, locally-driven, and primarily offline
Uplifting artists across all levels of experience
Equitable access to creative resources and opportunity
Connecting community members to each other
What we do:
Most of all, we seek to capture the feeling of sitting around a campfire and hearing a really, really good story: maybe it’s a story about a piece of your friend that you’ve never heard; maybe it’s fiction; maybe it’s a song that you all sing together; maybe it’s a single sentence that sparks an idea within you. Storytelling is inevitable, unavoidable, and utterly necessary to build resilient, creative communities. It is a crucial catalyst for social change.
Through our monthly newsletter, biannual print magazine, workshops, gatherings, financial opportunities, resource dissemination, and pop-up projects, we aim to support artists and foster rural connection.
ephemeral magazine
Within the mag we publish fiction, non-fiction, satire, and poetry writing; plus photography, illustration, collage, and other visual mediums; created by people who live in or often experience the Colorado Plateau. Each issue has a unique theme or creative spark.
We pay artists for their work and they maintain full copyright.
Issue Two: Vessel will be published in Spring 2025.
